Besides with this new found crack in the front cross member, the last thing I want to consider is drilling holes in anything!

The crack and oversize center hole came from loose spring u bolts. A lot of do it your self guys do not tighten bolts correctly. I find many bolts loose on Model A's that I have worked on.
