When the first non adjustable brake rods cam into being about February 1928, Ford dropped the punched out stops at the rear of the center cross member for the floating brake system; when it was determined the stops were needed a modification bracket was issued to accompany this problem; the only place it shows up are in the Fargo, North Dakota 1928 Service Letters. Ford at this time started re-punching out the stops in the cross member on the new frames.
