I didn't read the above references, so please forgive if this is redundant.
I simply support a couple of the mains on 2x6's or 2x8's, and roll the crank a half turn, and measure the stroke. Simple, direct, and I don't have to depend on 5/8 clean-out plugs and the like. JMO
