Too little weight on the tongue is when you can get bad handling pulling a trailer. I once pulled home a 29 Chevy 1 1/2 ton truck loaded with spare parts, and tires in the heavy wood box. I actually had to have a tractor loader push the tongue down to couple it and couldn't drive home any faster than 23 MPH. Luckily it was all on back roads in S.D.
