I run Read's Headers with Brockman Mellow-Tone steel packed mufflers on all our Flatheads with dual exhaust

. Brockman will custom make your mufflers to your specs, to achieve the sound you want. My preference, I love to hear them “rap-off”... when you back off the gas.

My opinion is; they don't have to be loud but they do have to be mellow.
