I used square sponge rubber sealer from a hardware store sold in a roll. I think it was intended to seal up leaks in old windows and doors. It came with glue on one side and a peal away strip of paper. I cut to length and glued to the outside of the floor boards. It came out decently, but probably not as nice as if I had the proper reproduction seals.
