Default Re: 1934, five window coupe. $?

I am going to ad to TJ's recommendation . I have a good friend that has State Farm for his 32 Five window. On our recent trip to Canada the car got some serious damage from some major road debri that wasn't cleaned up and an 18 wheeler . The car was a very nice, fresh black car. State Farm would only insure it for a little above 50k as a stated value which was low but it was done right before the trip and he just went with it . Nobody expects anything to ever happen right ?? Well it did and the damage for the repaint, rechrome, new glass etc etc was a little over 30k at a reputable shop. The car is now done and fixed and State Farm is fighting them all the way . The owner didn't want to hold up the shop so he has paid for it "out of pocket" . State Farm has tried to total the car , tried to low ball him , tried to threaten him , sent him a check in the mail for 18k and said that is all he gets etc etc . This is currently going on as we speak . It is a very stressfull ordeal. STAY AWAY FROM STATE FARM FOR CLASSIC CAR INSURANCE !!!!! Like most insurance companies , you will only know how good they are AFTER something bad happens so now you have a damaged car you love and you have to fight to get it fixed after years of paying good money toward a policy you thought would cover it !!! Remember he had a stated value above 50k so it should have been no problem. They said the car is worth under 20k so that is why they wanted to total it . Crazy crazy !!! Don't give yourself the headache . Place like Grundy,Hagerty and afew others are proven and are not any more money ...

Good luck , Mike
