Use the Mercon V in it. Yes, it is reverse compatible with all the earlier Mercon /Dextron formulas. I went thru all these changes working at the dealership level in parts, so it is the correct fluid. If you have an owners manual with the Ranger , all your fluids and capacities are listed in it.
