A Model A Radiator cap with a good gasket substituted for the gas cap once in the garage WILL do just that.

I do so not so much to prevent water absorption (here in southern Arizona humidity is frequently < 25% or less) but to prevent the evaporation of gasoline and accumulation of vapor in the garage during the warmer months.
