Ethanol is primarily produced in the US through corn stock. As everyone knows, corn is a "heavy feeder" and given no other fertilization, will soon deplete the land. Of course farmers growing corn for ethanol fertilize - and almost all of this fertilizer comes from - you guessed it - petro-stocks.

So the net effect of ethanol infused gasoline is actually to INCREASE our petroleum use due to the energy inefficiencies of growing corn.

The only advantage to corn in gasoline is use as an "oxygenator" which aids combustion - but this can be accomplished with as little as 3 percent admixture - not the 20 percent that your EPA advocates. And is a cleaner and less environmentally damaging additive than tetra-ethyl lead or MBTE
