The 51A brake drum mounts on the
inside of the hub and is correct for 42-48 passenger cars. The 01A version fits on the
outside of the hub and is correct for 40-41. The hubs are different. However, either drum (matched with the compatible hub) can can be used on 40-48 passenger cars.
Are you trying to replace worn out 51A drums and keep your pre-existing hubs?
