My first "hotrod" flathead was 284 cubic inches and had a Weber F6 cam in it. The cam sounded good, but I wasn't terribly happy with it (just ran out of power too soon). I then swapped over to a Potvin 425 Eliminator . . . now that was a lot better . . . ran that with three Holley 2110 carbs (they flow about 30% more than a 97).

Then I went to a cam that Tom Hutchinson called the "awful awful" (don't know the actual grind numbers/letters) - an Erson grind with .450 lift and a ton of duration - and added a blower. Now that was the cat's ass. LOL

Didn't really want to idle below about 1200 . . . but it was fun! LOL
