The top well in my convertible is made of fabric like the top material. It has a sleeve sewn into it that a stiff wire goes through across the rear and turns forward on each side . The wire has a loop on the ends and gets screwed to the verticals bracing in the body. The well came with the kit I bought from Lebaron Bonney.
