Flatjack9, is this a side shift linkage transmission or a top shift like a '39? It may sound dumb but we were planning on using the '40 column shift with a '40 dash, etc.

I could go into the reasons it works ok, if you want. Basically, it's because you only hit it with voltage when you shift. It doesn't have 12V (or 6V) CONTINUOUS on it.
