You should not have to double clutch this transmission with the exception of downshifting from 2nd gear into first. It sounds to me like your syncros may be worn out. There are others here that know far more than me about transmissions and can go into more specifics. If you need parts for it go to the website for Mac Vanpelt. His business is VanPelt sales.
