Putting the fuel tank behind the rear bumper ensures that you lose your back hair and your mullet in a collision. So much better than losing your leg and chest hair and eyebrows in a collision in a stock Model A. You can still look manly in your coffin without back hair, not so much without chest hair or eyebrows.
