It appears they used 1964 Chebby bronze. The streets were littered with millions of Biscayne's and Impala's that had that color on them. But back then, it was just base enamel. It is the clear-coat that really makes that '57 look good. Otherwise, I don't particularly care for the goldish color.
Have ya noticed most of your modern cars today roll out of the factory in some shade of metallic gold, bronze or aluminum? And they are all clear-coated. Very drab looking. But many of the colors of yesteryear in solid shades of blue, green, red, tan and even black would really pop on that car if they were clear-coated also.
