I made my own wheel adapters to mount 16 inch Ford wire wheels to the 8 inch Ford axles I use when I convert Halibrand 6 spline quick-change rears to drop in axles. The adapter dimensions are 1 inch thick and 8 inch diameter. Also I machine the adapters to be hub centric. This means the opening in the center of the adapters are machined so they locate on the hub of the Ford 8 inch axle. The hub centric style adapter is extremally strong since the weight is not on the studs its carried by the axles center hub.
