Could be replacement wheels and tires. During the war years you used whatever you could get. I remember my Dad had a Model A roadster, with a V8 in it, that he sold because the tires were worn and he was afraid if one blew he would not be able to find another. He also scrapped a 36 Graham around the same time because the water pump went bad and parts weren't available. Tough times that ate up a lot of good cars that we would love to have today but it was all worth it to save our freedom.
