Okay, the clevis pins are new... what is the condition of the mating holes in the rods? If the pins were worn out, the holes are most likely elongated. A slight elongation equates to an exponential amount of pedal travel.
Also, check the equalizer at the crossmember. Worn out?
There is also an adjustment between the pedal and the equalizer to be made.
