Yeah use stainless! Then the repairs last so long you forget about them. till the wire fatigues in northern iowa on the way to Minneapolis five years later. Your radiator comes in to the fan at 7 pm on a sunday. first you hear tink tink tink when you hit 80. It stops when you slow. So speed up again to identify and tink tink boooooooooosh! Coolant and steam shoots out. To make it the rest of the way took some needle nose pliers and started folding and crushing tubes to slow leaks. After an admittedly stupid attempt to silicone the leaks. got the last 200 miles on about 3 gallons of water. filled my cooler at the next stop. Didn't come close to needing all that water. The new radiator got the same stainless wire to hold it. But 10 ties on each side. And I put in the proper hold down after getting back home to Michigan.
