Re: 3:25 Gears
I put 3.25 gears in my '41 to get down to comfortable rpm at interstate speeds. The engine is a 284 inch flathead with mild street cam and loads of low end torque. Thought I might need to go to a 29 tooth cluster for lower low gear in hilly area, but it turns out to be not necessary. No problem getting going on steep hills.
But if you are anywhere near 200 HP, you must have a pretty wild cam, which means you are going to be burning up the clutch in traffic, even with the 3.78 gears.
Be sure your brakes are upgraded to handle the high speed panic stop.
