Can't answer that, but, over the decades many strange things can happen.
Whenever I clean and install a pan, after dumping a qt thru the distributor hole and 3 thru the filler neck, I mark the stick. Dump in another qt and remark.
The you can take measurements to know what/which stick is correct.
