thanks! Made it into Detroit today, and went to Edsel's home. I've been to & done everything in Detroit before, but Edsel's house is so nice I wanted to go back. Definitely way better than Henry's....

Yesterday the bolts came out of the header, and when that happened I think something happened to the rear clamp, but it didn't fully break until about 200 miles down the road today.

We are in Dayton, Ohio. Would have probably made it to Detroit, but had some more muffler problems. OF ALL THINGS, that darn muffler just doesn't want to stay on there!

Would have gone further, but had a minor problem and it would have been dark by the time we got to the next town...so we elected to just stay here.

Made it from Fort Worth to Jackson, TN today. About 600 miles. Plan to do about the same tomorrow.

I would consider un-torquing them and just snug them up. I would be afraid of the cracking after heating up because they won't be able to expand under that much pressure.

It's better to lay on your back with truck on the rack. Look up and you'll see 4 holes already drilled in the rack. Then you just drill through the trunk and add bolts/nuts. It's much more secure....

I would think if you wanted it to be through the key, you could then run the wire from the key to a fuse block and then have all the other wires hook up there. But that sure is a lot of electricity...
