Re: Frod 21A vs 91

I am assuming you are talking about connecting rods? To me the most notable difference is the 91a has cassel nuts and cotter keys and the 21a maybe a little more metal on the big end. Eddie

Re: 1940 Ford Sedan (standard)

I see EAB in the center of the right head. That is a '52 or '53 Ford. The highest compression head that Ford made for the flat heads. Hope you have one on the left side also. Very nice car!

Re: 1953 Mercury Hub caps

I think your problem is the radial tires. The wheels flex enough with the radials to pop the wheel covers off. I had the same problem.

Re: Enjoy

Thanks Ron,
Enjoyed it very much. I went home from the hospital in my Dad's 1932 Sport coupe. Wish I could own one!

Re: 59A pressure plate removal

Look and see if your engine has a two piece oil pan. If it does remove the rear part . This will give you room to unbolt the pressure plate.

Re: 53 ford brake pedal

I have owned 3 53 Fords. The rod that pushes the master cilinder is bolted to the brake petal. The head of the bolt has a shoulder that is off set from the rest of the bolt. By turning the hex head...

Re: glass

Early laminated glass was so bad about delaminating a black seal was applied to all exposed edges. Check an old original car and you can see what I am talking about. Eddie

Re: 53 ford fender skirts

They tend to look better nonpainted. Paint won't stick to rubber. It's easier not to paint the factory rubber since they are not stapled on. Eddie

Re: Info needed on o/d Ford hookup....

For the soleinoid to fit the convertible frame you will need the adaptor made to clear the x member of the frame. I think that is a 49 and 50 only and is hard to come by. Good luck. Eddie

The Ford u joint is the only part in the drive line that I never broke. I do not see why anyone would change it!
