Re: Touring communications:

I feel like Cb's are the best way. I have one in my car for the touring & they're even handy when it's just one other car traveling in your pack.

Re: Air Conditioner for Model A

My fan belt on this system is still fairly loose. I can turn the fan blade by grabbing onto it and it still charges the alternator, AC & doesn't slip.

Re: four row radiator for 1930?

If you want the best cooling capacity, get a VT modern core. They cool significantly better than the flat fin cores. They aren't right, but most people won't know. I have a 3 row VT core in my town...

Re: Radiator Stone Guard

Just last week my brother was driving my car and a piece of plastic fell off the trailer in front of him. Flew directly into the stone guard at 50mph. Put a huge dent in the stone guard, knocked off...

Re: Radiator decision?

Use to have a brassworks as well. It worked well and never overheated. It was the 10 fin pressurized radiator.

I now have a modern VT core in my car also pressurized and it runs 160* all summer....

Re: Model A touring engine

Never heard of Bert's selling anything bad. I would trust it. I have a Ron Kelley engine & love it. My brother has one and my dad has one being built.

Re: I think a friend's coupe is the highest mileage

Neat! Would love to see the documentation. I'm not disputing it, it would just be interesting.

Re: Touring safety

Re: Not popular but...pinto engine?????

I have driven cars with the Pinto/C4 or Pinto/'39 transmission set ups. It's very nice if done properly! If I were to put a different motor in my A besides an A motor, I would definitely go the Pinto...

Re: Driving in traffic and on tours

I've always driven my on freeways. Growing up, my grandpa avoided them at all cost. But he also rarely drove over 45 mph, so that was probably a smart decision. He didn't even really like driving on...

Re: Mitchell Overdrive, 26 and 36%

If you put a 36% overdrive in a stock model A it'll fall on it's face when you throw it in overdrive. You would have to have a very strong touring motor to support this. But even then, it would be an...

Re: To: Fort Worth Club Members

Our grandpa was invited to be a charter member and attend that first meeting to start the club, but he didn't go. He was always mad at himself for not doing it.

Re: Electronic Ignition Opinions Needed

When I go on a roadtrip, I carry a spare of everything. I prepare my car so I don't have to work on it on the side of the road. But accidents happen. I also let my sister and other people drive my...
