Re: Redrilling the flywheel for 11inch clutch

I've got an 11 inch flywheel he can have, free. That ought to say something... I'd NEVER use it.

Re: value of 33-34 h/l buckets

It amazes me how many folks seem to be unaware of the difference between 33 and 34. I don't see these very often in the swap meets, but when I do, they are usually mis-marked, or simply marked 33-34....

Re: LA Roadster Show Swap In Decline?

I went... I don't see any decline. If there was a decline, I would have said it was 3 or 4 years ago, when I thought it was dead. This year, lots of swappers, pretty good crowd spending. I sold a...

Re: Possible head gasket

I don't see comments on whether this is a pressure system or not. If running an open system, as in 32-late 30's, you might read old posts on this. What you describe could be the normal operation. At...

Re: Stats for my '34

My 34 has STA 13848. (two) I think that is Stant. I marked on my invoice that these are 1-3/4, 180 deg. If you want 160, maybe your local parts guy can cross the 13848 to an equivalent 160 stat? I...

Re: 4 Cyl Head Model "C"

If no one else is going to speculate, I'll stick my neck out. IF (big IF) I were looking for a head, and really really wanted it, I would probably be thinking in the 1 to 1-1/2 range. Course, I'm not...

Re: Good techniques for restamping frame?

Probably unrelated, possibly remotely related... I was admiring a 32 3W street rod at a car show. The SN was clearly visible, and I immediately noticed it was NOT a 32 SN, and also that it was...

Re: 1934 Sedan roof tack strip...

It will be interesting to see what ideas come up here. On my own 34, I tried to do a 'patch-job', and I've regretted it. If and when I do it again, I will remove EVERYTHING in that channel, and start...

I've got the 35-50 MM. If it happens to have the same pages, you are welcome to them
(13th edition, 1950)

(I've also got 35-42 MM, 7th edition)

Re: FYI rear end

My daily is a 03 GC. Currently putting on about 2500 per mo, or 30K per year. No problems, including the rear end. Coop has me curious though. I'll be asking about axle bearing history at my local...

Re: Front motor mounts 32-36

some have cast number, some do not. I've got a pair of 33-34, and one has the cast number, the other does not. Of course, 32 is unique, and is easily identified just by looks. 35-36 could look...

Re: Reproduction 34 front water neck/motor mount?

I've also got a set available.
Also, Charley-NY, who posts here, once posted that he was doing a repair on them. In any event, the old ones can be fixed.

Re: 1934 4-door roof wooden ribs

I meant to include this picture. It is the car that the bow was removed from.

Re: 1934 4-door roof wooden ribs

This is from one bow that I removed from my 'late33-early34'.
Caution -- I would make the bows to fit your body. I wouldn't trust the info I provided, except as a guide. I assume you have the...

Re: ID rear axle

'angle' brackets for radius rods... How many 35's had that?
I'd vote for (late) 32 to 34. But, the brakes don't 'look right'. So, I guess that is no vote, at all.

Re: Advice on purchasing a 1940 Coupe

ditto... I also bought one (a 47) that was a so-called 'show' car. Turns out, you can have a great looking 'points' car, that is mechanically a pos. I DID get a pretty good body. But, I had to do all...

Re: Comfortable speed

George, Thanks for the 'insight'. This is something I never considered, the total area of the inlet, vs the total area of the tubes. Or, maybe more to the point, the total impedance of one area vs...

Re: Comfortable speed

GM... I'm pretty sure (nearly positive) the radiator is plugged, not allowing 'free-flow'. And, yes, there is a good chance of contamination in the 3-lb valve. The valve has been there for a few...

Re: Comfortable speed

Ditto what's being posted here. My 34, 3.78's, no od, and factory everything else, is like said here. Using Skip's 3-lb valve. If I push it, it wants to throw water. If I keep it below 60-65, it's...

Re: 34 water pumps

I've used a couple different approaches... The pumps I like best come from Daryl Fryer (Calif), and he is an advertiser in the V8 times. I have also rebuilt my own pumps, using a kit from Dennis...

Re: 1933-34 front motor mounts?

I would also suggest trying to find the Drake mounts, as suggested. I used another source first (I've forgotten which), and they were weak, unsatisfactory, and squashed in no time. The ones I got...

Re: 1934 Brake Linings

Mine has woven linings... And, a severe shudder on hard application. Isn't that the way it's supposed to be? :)
BTW, in my opinion, I found molded linings to be unsatisfactory.
