Re: Distributor shaft end play

This is how I do it.
Many shafts are too low, causing the rotor to be too low from the contacts in the cap and the rubbing block will be at the top of the cam.
Many times I need to put a fiber...

Re: Speedometer help

Look at the pictures above.
The oval cable will have ends crimped on both ends, and the square will measure from .120" to .125" or about 1/8".
The round cable will not have any ends on it and is...

Re: Speedometer help

sounds like you are trying to use the wrong cable.
The oval speedometer cable end is larger than most other cables, Most universal replacement cables will be too small and slip.

I use heat and have never had to drill out a secondary well.
I heat all around the well until bright red then I let it air cool until the red goes away then I put water on it. The wells will come...

Re: Passenger door handle lock

All the reproduction handles that I have seen are made of pot metal and cannot be taken apart without breaking them. Also they use a different key blank so your original ignition key will not fit in...

Re: Speedometer stopped working on my 29

Your inner cable should stick out on the upper end about 1/8 inch, and should go past the bottom of the outer housing about 1 inch.
All reproduction cables are not the same length and some will not...

Re: Speedometer stopped working on my 29

Remove your inner cable from the outer cable and put the bottom end into the gear, how far will it go in, is the tab broke off, will it go in far enough for the tab to properly enter the slot. We are...

Re: Speedometer stopped working on my 29

There are two different gear assemblies or turtles. Yours should have a round hole with a slot, and the bottom end of your cable should have a round end with a tab. Check to see if it will go in the...

Re: Speedometer stopped working on my 29

Pull the inner cable out and look at it, it should pull out easy from the speedometer end. Sounds like it might be broke. Also take the bottom end off and inspect it, if you still don't see anything...

Re: Speedometer stopped working on my 29

I am a little confused, where are you applying pressure, the inner cable must stick out from the outer cable like in the picture or the speedometer will not turn. If your inner cable does not stick...

Re: Speedometer stopped working on my 29

There are 3 adjustments on the calibration. If your odometer is correct move the metal tab to the left to make it read faster. The other two adjustments require special equipment and training, If you...

Re: Speedometer stopped working on my 29

If you are using original Ford inner and outer cables, your inner cable should turn easy and have about 1/8 inch end play when connected to the speedometer.
Reproduction cables are a crap shoot,...

Re: Speedometer stopped working on my 29

Re: Gas Gauge Dissasembly

I have removed stuck glass by heating it with a hot air gun.
It softens the sticky stuff in the gasket that is holding it in there and they usually push out very easy when hot.

Re: Cut code for lock cylinder?

The cut code for A1213 is 23542 this tells him how deep to make each cut, he will also need to know how much space between the cuts or spacing. Use Briggs & Stratton Gas Cap spacing. Most door locks...

Re: Speeedometer

Sometimes you can get the magnet loosened up without taking everything apart. But it will usually stick again and break something when the odometer tries to turn over a big number. For it to work...

Re: Pop out key

A 28-29 and early 30 with a oval speedometer uses a B1 blank.
A late 30 and 31 with a round speedometer uses a blank that is only available from Model A parts vendors, and very pricey.
However ...
