Gas gauge not working
rebuilt gas gauge when restored my Cabby, it worked for short time..then read 0...looked down in top of tank and cork and wire was on bottom of tank..this was a new Ethanol proof cork float that came...

Marvel mystery oil did not help, we are now running 100 LL airplane fuel in all cars because ethanol melts tank treatments...maybe the fuel is too clean??

valve sticking
my friends model A's and other Fords are having problems with valves sticking..anyone have answers..is it fuel type or is there a additive you can put in to fix it...thanks

Bruce; thanks for info, not sure that would cover the high square top of cabriolet, the one I saw once had elastic at bottom and kinda looked like a shower cap for old lady...Dick

At one of the model a meets we saw a cover that just covered the roadster/Cabriolet top..wondered if anyone knew who made these:confused:

just remember you need a compressor to supply addequet air to blaster...I use black magic carberendem as medium..a little course, but lasts longer and takes rust off anyting...must oil or paint...

the newer needles for carb have Viton tip, this tip is soft enough to stick in closed position, clean metal needles may leak but will not shut off fuel like these Viton tipped ones will

will not idle down
this new engine will not idle like my other model A's...they will idle to point you could almost count fan blade turning over...this new engine has high compression head, counterbalanced crank, and B...

I was having same problem, car would die like being shot..no fuel..found it to be needle valve in carb. with Viton tip..they can stick up when car bounces and shut fuel off...changed to metal needle...

head leak
I have new rebuilt engine with Snyders 5.5 head, not installed by me but the builder..I now have a small leak at rear of head and have torqued all studs to 55 pounds...question is when I replace head...
