Herb is correct, that solenoid works just fine with a stock 6 Volt system. No need for a 6 to 12 volt inverter.

A&L Model A Parts used to make this reproduction clock-mirror and they were pretty decent. However, I don't think they make this any longer.

It wouldn't hurt to tighten all the hose clamps as this could be the source of the leak(s)

I used AAA to tow my Model A to my friends garage to use his facilities to change the clutch. No problems, the only requirement is that the A had to be registered.

I have used LocTite Stripped Thread Repair with good success on newer cars. It used to be called Form-a-Thread, Summit has this product.

I concur with Herb, the overdrive works fine off the 6 volt positive ground system. One toggle switch and a single wire. Don't forget the reverse lock out switch you need to add to the transmission...

I have no problem with the 6 volts activating the solenoid on my Laycock OD. But one thing you do need is to have clean connections and use 14 or 12 gauge wire for the electrical connections. This...

Just to confirm, with engine off, if you put the transmission IN 1st, and push the clutch to the floor, does the engine start right up with no problem.

I agree with Rick, the W18 is equivalent of the 3X plug. I used the W18 for many years.

Rich Little in California has been doing these conversion for sometime, but I think he has stepped back from do these recently. I know David Mossman in Auckland, NZ has been doing these conversion...

I remember talking to Ron Mosher of Newhall CA some years ago and I believe he bought the inventory of Bill Swigert. Maybe Ron has some parts you can use.

Back in the 90's we installed a number of the Borg Warner overdrives that Burt Hiller made and these only had 6 spline couplings connecting the OD output to the stub shaft.

I have not seen a robe rope with the end caps you mention. The only ones I'm aware of had the wire wraps at the end as shown on my original rope.
