Cowl vent pivot stud?

Does anyone know where I can get the cowl vent pivot stud and spring, washers, nut ,cotter pin etc as a kit or individually for that matter for my 36 Ford?

I checked fordbolts.com they sell the castle nut and cotter pin but not the cowl vent pivot stud.

What do I do about the gasket being to thick? I was assuming that was the problem.

Gary, that does help. Do you have a picture of the other side showing the little spring? Mine doesn't have a littlt spring. It looks like some one put in a solid steel tube.

Yep.
I just looked. When i pull the chrome bar toward the dash, it doesn't want to go far enough to let the ratchet bar notch to catch. The spring is hooked up and all seems to be working right but...

I bought my first 1936 Ford 3 window and the cowl vent won't stay closed. It operates fine but there isn't any catch to keep it completely down.

Wouldn't there be a latch type catch or something...
