How is the door gap? Can you detect "play" in the hinge pins? Can you loosen your hinge screws and insert shims between the A-pillar and the hinge?

Here's a bunch of 40 coupe tie rod photos that may help. Both the tie rod and the drag link are straight. Axle, spring, steering arms and shocks are not stock 40.

I am finding that vendors sell the same latches for 1938-40 Fords claiming they fit....

My experience has been that operating stock 6V KS gauges on 12V (not reduced to 6V)
will ruin the gauges. That's why a voltage reducer is needed.

Be sure to follow the above advice and have "no load" on the axle or spring.
I am not sure of how the spring attaches on a 1935 Ford but you might want to use a spring spreader to "unload" the...
