I don't see why it wouldn't hold up to the weight of a 40. The original wishbone mount is only stamped steel with a steel cover. I think you are going to make a new mount for your wishbone, so you...

I also just recieved a 1939 Trunk handle assembly from John. Great guy to deal with and the handle was beautiful.

Does anyone know if 1939 Ford rear fenders for a tudor sedan interchange with any others ? Perhaps 1938 ? And are the rear fenders the same on a coupe ? I am looking at buying a left rear fender but...
