I have the same mirrors and had the same issue. I reversed the c-clamp and it changed the angle of the mirror stock

The main journals are .001 out of round. Rear journal is 1.618 and 1.619. Spec is 1.624

There were shims in the front cap all others there was none. All of the journals look nice but measure under size.

I disassembled the engine on my A and found this broken bearing, front of the rear main cap. Other than this the rest of the bearings look good. I assume there is no repair to this?

I have a spreader. I’m curious if the amount of side force effects felt vibration on the engine.
And how much spread needed to install is normal. Are all frames about the same?

My frame needs to be spread 1/4 inch to install the engine on my A. Is this tension part of how the side rubber mounts work? Is there such a thing as too much tension?

Update on tire diameter. Excelsior comp H 5.75/6.00 tires measure 30.5 on stock model A 19 inch wheels. Coker spec lists 31.

I am running stock wheels. I was using a different calculator. A gear change to 3.54 would yield around a 147 rpm drop. So if the next size up tire 6.00x 19 comp H is truly a 31 inch tall tire from...

I have one of these carbs on my 31 A that will not idle or rev up without the choke partially on. The mount flange was severely warped, which I fixed. Is there other areas that have a warp issue?...
