Re: Roof wadding

I used indoor/outdoor carpeting of a low pile. Has worked excellent for years now. Smooth as a billiard table up there.

Re: Cowl Band restoration

Be glad it's not a '29 Town Sedan. Pulling that off (and putting it on) are exercises in nervousness.

I'd suggest a brass brush vs. SS. Softer than the surrounding metal.

Any Insight To This?

Bought an axle to replace the one bent years ago in a towing mishap (which hits the apron).

Any thoughts?

Re: Shutting my Roadster off.

A car with gravity feed fuel is a car with a perpetually running fuel pump. Henry didn't add parts just "for the heck of it," we know that.

And to add: I always run carbs dry, works great.

Re: 1929 Town Sedan barn find progress!

Yeah, that's definitely not the correct one for the car. It's a Trico, but I don't think its a Model A model, looks most like a TR-C1A but some minor diferences.

Per the Judging Standards:...

Re: 1929 Town Sedan barn find progress!

Looks like a June 1928 build date. Check out this link http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/ABenginenumbers.htm#C3

The beauty is you can start off by making it safe and using it and then decide later...

Re: 1929 Town Sedan barn find progress!

You inspired me to upload a few pics of my car's "journey." Check them out, maybe give you some inspiration.

Re: 1929 Town Sedan barn find progress!

That looks awesome! Just finished the same car about three years ago. Murray, 1929.

As for the windshield wiper motor, it should be electric not vacuum. Let me know if you need any tips or...

Re: HELP: ready to start again...n/g

Still dont know about AT THE PLUGS. Just pull off the bronze strip that goes to the plugs and position it about an 1/16-1/8 inch away from the plug tip. A spark should jump to the tip if all is...

Re: Reintroducing my Model A

Mine did the same thing. Eliminated everything motor related, even flow tested the radiator and it was good...It was the radiator.

Had it re-cored and she runs cool as a cucumber since.

Re: damaged piston what? why?

It would be coincidental, but maybe the dipper tray developed a hole. The oil would just run out of the tray as fast as the pump replaced it.

Just a thought...

Re: Can the header wood on a Murray 4 door be replaced without a total teardown?

It's going to be a tough replacement if you don't plan on removing the roof panels, but I think it can be done.

You'll unscrew the windshield hinge, remove the upholstery cardboard, and pull the...

Re: What's With The Heat?

Same problem here. Fixed it right up with a new radiator. Flushed it til I was blue and never helped.

Re: Confirm my suspicions: Distributor woes

Check the carbon "button" in the cap. Sometimes the grind down to nothing and don't make good contact with the rotor.

Re: Powder for Powder Coating
