Re: Rocky Mountain High Road Trip
Quote: "They were self proclamed "Car Guys" and had old flathead Ford's themselves. I put them in as a sampling of the myriad of "Ooglers" I had along the whole trip -"
Nice trip, but what does...

Re: 1950 f1 gas tank fitting
You can stop the flow but in my experience, if you mess with the valve too much then it will start to leak a little.

Re: I’m Stoked !!
That's cool! I have the same truck and the same transmission. It's a lot of work to drive and I thought that if I drove it enough I would get used to the transmission but I've had it on the road for...

Re: Flathead folklore, were did you find yours...
Mine sat 34 years in the truck with no oil pan on it. Previous owner spun the center main bearing and started to work on it then stopped and left it all that time.
The block was frozen when I got...

Re: 1949 Ford F3
Good luck on the F-3. Maybe I'm biased, but I love to see these things on the road.
I downloaded a speedometer App on my phone and used it to see if my speedometer on the truck was accuarate. I hit...

Re: 1950 f1 directional lights
Changed mine over to dual filiment and it works great. I hated those big lights used to be mounted on the fenders. No turn signals back in those days, especially on farm trucks.

Re: peep mirrors dont fit
The peep mirrors are just for looks. No matter how hard I try to adjust them, I still can't see out of them. I gonna try something different, just not sure what yet.

Re: F-1 door weatherstripping problem
My seals are too big too. I adjusted it as far out as it will go and it seems that I have to still slam the door to get them to shut. I've been waiting for them to break in but its been a year and a...

Re: Question for the f1 guys...brakes
I replaced the whole system on my F-3 with no problems at all. It's all original so no power booster but it stops fine enough for me. The only thing that bothers me is that my emergency brake is not...

Here is a quote from a good freind, "Eat the fish and spit out the bones".
I take in the information I want and I ignore the rest.

Re: "Restoring Handles"
I just used 0000 steel wool on mine and they turned out fine. I do have to re-buff them from time to time. I guess it just depends on how perfect you want it to look. Personnally I kinda like the old...

Re: 1950 Ford F-1 Pickup
I had the same issue. I didn't know what they were for. My freind who worked for a glass company didn't even know what they were for. I just tried to bend them up as much as I could without cracking...
