Re: 6 volt alternators conversion
I converted my 47 to an alternator last summer. I used the 1 wire unit, it also came with a smaller pulley on it. My car is still positive ground and I have it running through the original ammeter....

Re: 39 ford brakes
I would recommend using some alcohol to flush the system before filling it with the silicone brake fluid (dot 5).

Re: Radius rod rubber ball???
When replacing the radius rod rubber does it make a difference if the jack stands are placed under the front axle or should they be under the frame rail?

Re: Who are Your Parts Supplier?
I use Little Dearborn in Minneapolis. I can go in person and get my parts and not wait for shipping. I have also used VanPelt, C@G, Drake, Carpenter and been satisfied with all.

Re: 8ba stumbles at freeway speeds
Looks like you are running the stock 6 volt and still have a generator. The Pertronix ignition requires lots of constant voltage to work correctly. Make sure that you have battery voltage going to...

Re: 47 Charging issues
It is a known good regulator, NAPA #VR401. I went back to the original regulator and started testing fresh, found that full fielding didn't make generator charge. Don

Re: generator vs. alternator
I want to stay with 6 volt / positive ground. I was told by a supplier that the Delco 10si can be built for 6 volt with positive ground. One of the things that I'm still investigating is the role of...
