Re: Yet another horn rod question

Dunno if it qualifies as a trick, but we used two needlenose pliers.

After placing the larger u-shaped clip over the spring, we put the needle nose on either side of the bottom of the clip and...

Re: Not so Super Bright LEDS

My 2c worth. . . . .

Re: Yet another horn rod question

We swapped out the '36 Column for a '37.

Fitting the horn rod took about two hours! It had a slight bend, and some crud and hardened grease. We cleaned everything up really well. We also took...

Re: chrome plating question

People normally can have different experiences with different companies.

Re: O/T Elderly lady driving One Cyl Olds coast to coast

Yesterday she was in Port Allen La. Looks like about 2/3 of the way done.

Some of her blog entries about being on the road with other fast-moving traffic are scary. Also there is no windshield or...

Re: Bumper jack handle

Hmmmm,

That style jack handle has probably been a murder weapon more than any other part on the FH Ford.<grin>

You might be interested in this journey - especially those driving out to Tahoe.

Re: How to finish top folding mechanism on 35 Convertible

The metal top frame itself would be chrome plated.

Yes there is a wooden strip around the inside of the body where the top and pads are tacked into.

There is a wooden header bow in the front...

Re: Vacuum testing questions, stock 21 stud

The reason for the test was to use the vacuum gauge to set the initial timing at idle.

We understand the way to do this is hook up the gauge and move the set screw on the side of the distributor...

Re: Battery Quick Disconnect - Available - you pay shipping only

Turning this around for a Positive spin.

IMO a battery disconnect switch is a way to generate peace of mind. When the sucker is OFF there's nothing that can catch the car afire from its own...

Re: 1936 Ford Cabriolet T-Shirt P-38

Nice design but "Django Studios" overwhelms the rest - I would buy one if the commercial part of the design was not so prominent.

I'm just saying.

There are a few puzzle generators on the web.

Here is one I turned up with a quick search - there may be better ones.

Re: Testing gas tank sender and gage out of the car

Yes this is easily done.

I used a 6V fully charged battery and some test leads with alligator clips. The negative lead from the battery goes to the top terminal on the gauge, then a connection...

Make sure car is in neutral and brakes applied.

Re: 35 gas filler neck

When assembling, I recommend copious uses of lubricant on the threads, they are so small in contrast to the diameter. Never-seize is what we used. We used a 'normal' amount and it took the last bit...
