Re: NOS key lock id help

Top one is an ignition switch lock cylinder and lower is a door lock cylinder. From what I can see look like 51-52 f1 truck. Not sure tho if the shaft on the door lock is the right length for an f1.

Autolite 4100 Carb 4BBL 1.12

This is an Autolite 4100 carb in good shape that I took off a 1966 289 A code motor. Ran fine just too big a carb for the A code motor. Has the 1.12 venturi which is 600cfm. Was rebuilt with a kit...

Re: How to remove the oil dip stick tube 1949 8RT

I've done it several times by welding square nuts inside the pan and using allen head bolts.

Re: 6 or 12 volts?

I put new wiring in my 52 f1 and kept it 6v. Everything works great. The only downside with 6v is if you leave the lights on and need a jump start.

Re: 1947 Ford 1 Ton Panel Delivery

Nice truck. The rear bumper looks like the stock rear bumper for 51-52 pickups.

Re: Making new rubber parts??

Firstrider on the ford truck forum makes the rubber boots for the 51-52 magic air heaters. He might be a good contact as to what works and what doesn't.

Re: How to remove a 33 front crossmember?

Can remove the brake hoses then jack up the frame high enough to clear spring. Probably have to go rearward with it due to the taper of the frame it won't go forward and out.

Re: Hood hinge bolts, F-1

The studs are on the part that bolts to the side of the cowl. The hood has captured nuts where the hinge arms bolt into, 2 on each side. Possible they were drilled out if the bolts snapped off.

Re: Capacitance for Ford horns

I was thinking they were just a coil of wire like most horns so maybe resistance or inductance values instead of capacitance?

Re: Early/ late pedal set for 1933-34?

The smaller bracket with less holes is for 33 and the other is 34. I thought the I-beam style clutch pedal was for trucks and smooth for cars. Not sure the dates when changes were made.

Re: Copy of Threads, Save information on a disc?

Flash drives will last longer than the mechanical hard drives of today. The hard drives are of lower quality than they were years ago. The spindle bearing has gotten smaller which means it has less...

Re: 1950 f5 clutch

These trucks were 6V pos ground originally. Unless it has been converted to 12V probably burned up the solenoid. The starter can take 12V ok.

Re: Convert 37 Ford radio to 12 volt?

Can be done but not really by the average guy. Need a radio repairman. Need to change the dial lights, change the tubes to 12v versions or wire the filaments of two tubes in series which means you...
