Way back when I was an electroplater, we would recommend Mr. Sheen furniture polish for chrome.

Re: Turn Signals
If you change to LED from incandescent bulbs, you'll need either a load resistor or an electronic flasher can. I run the latter with my LED indicators, a Narva 68249.

Re: Value of an Un-Restored Model A Engine
I recently sold a complete engine for $50, and told the buyer that if there's a crack, bring it back and I'll get another one out for you. It comes down to supply and demand. I have about twenty five...

Re: Pre Osha
Same in Australia, we call it OH&S, and the authority is worksafe. Different states have their own authority, but it only applies to commercial businesses. If I'm on my own roof doing my own thing,...

Re: Tudor seat pivot pin
My Tudor is far from concourse, so I just used a bolt and nyloc. The shank of the bolt is long enough to go through both sides of the floor mount, and I have cut the length of the threads so I don't...

Re: Repairing worn hub axle races
Just as well that I don't have new hubs. I could see the sleeves being expanded after fitting the same way as a bush shrinks in slightly when pressed in. Although honing a bush back to size after...

Re: Repairing worn hub axle races
The sleeves I got from Henry's(Snyders), suggest using loctite when fitting the sleeve to the housing, as well as .0015" interference. It's a learning curve for me, my first one. Found out the...

Re: Prices going through the roof?
I don't think 20K USD for the Coupe is over the top. That would be around 30K AUD, which is about right from what I've seen here in Oz. Remember it's 2024, not 1974.

Re: It's a crime
I think the same about modern cars, "why would anyone want to restore a VS Commodore or 1993 Magna etc". But, people do, and we have them in one of the car clubs I'm a member of. So I just let them...

Re: Stainless valves problem
Wouldn't too tight of a clearance cause the valve to stay open a smidge and cause seats to burn up, and not stems to bend. Wouldn't too tight of a fit of the guide cause the stem to be tight and be a...
