Re: Emergency Brake Springs Location?

Oh I know what you mean. It was a chilly 78 degrees today! Maybe tomorrow it'll warm up a bit! Ha!
I grew up in New Jersey and remember the cold winters. (not as cold as Minnesota but cold). I had a...

Re: Emergency Brake Springs Location?

Tom, the carriers were reversed which caused the bands to be in the wrong position and no place to attach the lower small spring. Once I reversed the carriers (only the carriers) everything is...

Re: Emergency Brake Springs Location?

Well, I found out what my problem was! Someone in the past reversed the e-brake band carriers putting the left one on the right and the right on the left. Being in the incorrect positions located the...

Re: Emergency Brake Springs Location?

Rusty, thanks for the photo. It's exactly what I need. I'll check what I have going on with my car and then will do what I have to do to make them look like the photo. Thanks!

Emergency Brake Springs Location?

I am having difficulty determining where the small springs that hold the

Re: Removing Built Up Wax From Body Seams?

I did. I used Meguiar's Black Paste Wax. Although it's not really black in color, more like a gray it sure does look better then the old dry white wax that was it here. Thanks!

Re: Removing Built Up Wax From Body Seams?

After trying a toothbrush I landed up getting the best results with a q-tip and Ivory Liquid dish soap. I found that the toothbrush was lightly scratching the surrounding area even though the brush...

Removing Built Up Wax From Body Seams?

My '29 Tudor has an older black paint job that has lots of dried white wax built up in the body seams. I want to remove it without using a wheel, preferring to do it by hand. I searched here, you...

Re: Afraid to post barners...

Whenever I post I post questions. I'm new with Model A's but not with old cars and restorations. I've been around 'old' cars for 50 years and if there's one thing I've learned it is not necessary to...

Awesome! I'll send them out to John Holland when I'm ready to take care of them. And thanks for the shipping tip about using a USPS flat rate box.

Re: Frozen Shocks

OK, so my chances of finding any good shocks from the 4 I have are as they say 'slim to none'. I think I'll just let them sit in storage on the shelf in the cabinet and I'll get on with my car's...

Re: Frozen Shocks

I was unaware that re-builders want them intact. Thanks for bringing that point up.
I only have 4 shocks and with what I read chances are good that half of them are trash. So I'll have to round up...

Re: Frozen Shocks

Once I get them apart, if I do, I intend to send them out to be rebuilt. I've read enough to know it's better to leave the rebuild to someone with experience. Working on the shocks is going to be a...

Re: Frozen Shocks

I Goggled "electrolytic rust removal" and was amassed at what a simple process it is and how effective it is in breaking down rust. I plan on picking up the supplies I'll need and trying it out on...

Re: Frozen Shocks

Ha!I gave up charcoal years ago so all I have is a gas grill! I'm sure I can go to Wal Mart and pick up a cheap grill and a bag of charcoal to use for heating up the shocks. Thanks for your input.

Re: Frozen Shocks

I first want to determine if they are usable. If so I would consider taking them apart or send them out for rebuilding. I didn't expect to soak them for a while, paint them and then install them....

Thanks so much for the photos of the visor's proper shape. The visor you show is very nice with it's graceful slight curvature shape.

Re: '29 Tudor Visor Question

Bill asked: Could you just straighten it? Bill W. Sure I bet it could be straightened but is it worth the time and effort? I did a quick measurement and the center section of the visor bows upward...

Here's a photo of the visor on my Tudor. It looks like it's an original piece that has lived a tough life. I plan on replacing it with a reproduction straight one from one of our Model a...
