Rob, I was never quite sure which type coil you actually had on your engine to begin with. If you had or have the original Ford type coil used from '42 - '48, starting with the crab style...

This all would have been good to know from the beginning of post. Which type of distributor did you have on the engine to begin with? Early helmet type or later crab? All point sets are not made...

Yes, it is possible for the timing gear to move on the camshaft hub if the press fit is not tight. It is also possible that someone pressed the gear on the cam hub aligning to the wrong marks. There...

These questions assume you have a 35 camshaft with a press on type timing gear.....

When you had the timing gear cover off, did you make sure the timing gear is pressed on the camshaft hub...
