I have this exact setup in my 32 frame. i took it out from the rear of the torque tube so the centre bearing remained. I also went through the same thought pattern and thought it best to just leave...

You mean the inside door handle post?? If it wont come out by winding the window mech all the way up, the window mech will need to be unscrewed and moved, but not removed, just slid out of the way.

I think you could use the 32-34 spring with the 36 rear end, but you will have to shorten the torque tube and drive shaft........and pie cut the radius rods at the rear end mount as...
