Re: 1940 Ford tunk lock

This was on my 1940 Ford Tudor Sedan. Everything was new, latch, license plate bevel and handle. Closed the trunk. Wouldn't open. Handle would only turn 30 degrees.

Gently lifted the lower...

Re: Model A starting issue

OK reset the timing per Mike. I reset the idle screw to 1 turn and was able to get it to fire occasionally with the gas rod up all the way, so some progress. If I put my hand over the carburetor air...

Model A starting issue

I'm trying to rebuild a '28 that has been sitting a long time. I rebuilt the Tillotson square bowl carburetor. I had to take .030 off the top float flange to get it flat. I adjusted the float so...

I'm rebuilding an 889A 3 speed side loader. It needs a cluster gear rear plate, but the only one available is 32-16823-1 which is "thick" at 0.180 inches. I need one at 0.120 inches. Is one...

Re: engine won't turn over

Is this an 8BA or 59AB engine. The 8BA crankshaft has oil plugs. These have to be removed and the galleys cleaned out during a rebuild. If this is not done, some oil may get through, but...

Re: Road trip with an overheat

Take a thermal gun ( the red dot laser gun that cats love and also gives temperature). Measure the temperature difference between the top and bottom of the radiator. On my 1941 3 1/2 ton I had 30...

Re: fuel pump push rod bushing removal

Just for the record, I recently removed the fuel pump bushing in an 8BA. This was caused by an unusual set of circumstances. The cam would only move 1/8 inch axially and rotate 30 degrees. On...

Re: 1941 Ford Big Truck Brake Bleed

Problem solved and it just goes to show when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Not all soft pedal issues are caused by air in the brake line. In my case, the wheel cylinder cups were...

Re: 1941 Ford Big Truck Brake Bleed

I put a residual valve on the line going to the rear. I bled the master cylinder, but was concerned that air might have gotten back in when I blocked/unblocked the front cylinders. I put pressure on...

I've converted my 3 1/2 ton to dual master. One line goes from the back reservoir to the rear and splits on the rear end housing. The front reservoir goes down to a dual tee for the brake light...

Re: 94 Carb Model H

I've got an Airtex E8011 going through a Gator pressure regulator and it's taking over 2 minutes for the pump to switch to bypass mode. Therefore, I concluded that the float wasn't closing the float...

94 Carb Model H

Can anyone help identify this 94 carb? It has the Ford script, but the only identification is an "H" on the throttle pump column. Is this a Holley replacement? This picture is the middle section. ...

41 ford 1 1/2 ton front bumper brackets

Looking for a set of front bumper brackets for my '41 1 1/2 ton. This is the three hole bumper. I have the bumper, just need the brackets. I believe the same brackets were used for several years.

Re: Ford Truck weight

This is great information. The truck isn't quite mobile yet. I thought my 16 x 32 garage would be big enough and it's not! I'll post pictures soon.
