The use of a copper base anti-seize compound for spark plugs has been common for many years.

On one hand knurling the outside is good because it makes the guide tight in the block so the valve seat remains solid in place but you also lose about 30% contact area which relates to a LOT of heat...

On the few street engines I have built with stock type chambers, I used either Edelbrock or Sharp.
I used those also on the race engines because they always welded reliably for the flat pistons.
