Do you have a code stamped into the cowl? It would be above the seam between the firewall and cowl.

The color code is found in the Cowl Code for US produced models.

EX: DA-C73-4-41-15L-102

DA= Dearborn
C73= Custom Deluxe Fordor
4= Meadow Green
41= Custom Deluxe Mohair

Maybe trying to use the gaskets as a carb spacer? Also the hole in the carb throttle body should line up with the hole in the gasket.

I assume you are talking about the 1951 exterior trim pieces at the bottom of the window. Give Chris at Shoebox Central 405-259-9222. He is very knowledgeable about Shoeboxes.

I have instructions on how to put in a 70's V8 Maverick or Comet automatic rear end in a Shoebox. It would give you a rear end ratio of 2.79. The standard tranny rear end would be a 3.00. The V8's...

Try a new condenser. My 50 had a backfiring problem also. A neighbor said replace the condenser. It turned out that the wire in the condenser was partially connected.

if you use an adapter, make sure the orientation of the 2 barrel will hook up to the stock linkage.

I would call them Vibration Dampers. There are two types of Vibration Dampers. One is Viscous Type and the other is Rubber Type. They are interchangeable.
