Towed our roadster front facing with the top down. Traveling at 100km+can cause a lot of strain on the old tops. Cardboard on the Rad and Windshield is a good idea

How long ago was it rebuilt? I would call the rebuilder and ask him what should be done first before taking things apart. Doing so might void warranty from the rebuilder.

I had a similar issue 3 months ago. Replaced the amp meter and coil and still had the same issue. Replaced the cut out and she started and ran perfectly the first try.

Don't forget to plug exhaust and carb holes..this falls under mouse proof but often to some that means just lay out traps.

Float needs to be adjusted to proper height or get in the habit of using the hand throttle when coming to a stop. Bring it down a notch or two until you have stopped then return it back to the up...

Thanks Tom, I checked that option. I removed the 2 gears and main shaft all together and just left the main drive gear and cluster gear in the transmission it turns fine with finger tight bolts...

after cleaning it and inspecting it looks like the threads half way down are stripped. I have a 3/8-24 tap that I will chase and try to fix it. Thanks Tom for the dimensions.

Thanks Ron, I will try that first. I noticed it wasn't seated when disassembling it. Thought maybe the last person just didn't tighten it down enough.
