The original one fit perfectly
The top dist plate does not rotate now, I pushed down on it, does that make a difference?

Distributor install

Hi all
When installing a new distributor the advance rod from the firewall does not reach the distributor attachment?

Hi all, Cam won't lock down when timing ignition (lots of play in each direction), even with a lot of torque on the cam screw? suggestions please, thanks

Fuel leak

Hi All
Need some Barn expertise
The fuel line that goes into the fuel bowl leading to the carb (1930) is leaking at the bowl fitting. Tried to tighten, no go.

My on and off battle with a smooth idle came down to perserverence like all my issues with the coupe. It was a combo of fixes.

What ares the difference in the 30-31 caps vs the earlier ones? My cap sits very high so that the window frame contacts it. Maybe it is not a problem with the window frame but the cap. Suggestions?

Had the same issue, purchased a Viton tip float needle and stacked 2 white neoprene gaskets from Bert's, that solved it. Realized how important the fuel level in the carb bowl really is.

150 here no thermostate
This car seems to run better at the lower temp. In the winter I use the radiator/card board trick learned from the Barn to get her up to running temp quickly.

One suggestion
Remove the carb jets and check to see if they are at spec
If not originals, repros in my experience, some were not even close to spec.
Solder them closed and re-drill
