Re: Prices for turnkey Flathead?

I spoke to someone not too long ago about his flathead. Seems he searched all over for a turnkey motor but the prices were in the nosebleed section. He ended up buying a completed short block from...

Re: Can I remove bonded lining from brake shoes?

Depending on how long ago the shoes were replaced could be a problem. I was just
looking at info that said asbestos was still being used in brake pad manufacturing through
the 1990's and probably...

I'm with RonnieRoadster, sprayed my copper gaskets with a couple of coats of silver paint.
No leaks and torqued down perfectly.

Re: 1940 ford help or info needed on weather stripping and cats hair in window tracks

I think the track drops on to a little hook at the bottom of the steel channel. If the panel is off and the seat is out you can see it from the side. Fronts have a screw in the top of them on the...

Re: Fenton Headers

Will jacking up the front of the motor a couple of inches facilitate getting the left header on?
As you lower the motor you would be able to see where the "contact" points are. I put a set in my '40...

Re: Parts prices are killing our hobby

We can piss and moan, but it's hard to disregard the passion. It all becomes part of the game and you can choose being in or out. I remain "in". I know the rules and it's pay to play, but sometimes...

Re: Parts prices are killing our hobby

As I see it, it's like there are 2 economies. One economy for selling cars and the seller gets beat up for every nickel, and the other economy is for buying parts. The parts chasing and buying always...

Re: 39 /40 coupe body

Re: Just how dumb was I?

Had a friend offer me his '68 Shelby KR500 for what he owed on it. That was $1300. Heck, I didn't want a Mustang for THAT kind of money! Back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Gotta' just keep...

Re: 40 Ford Tudor Deluxe Sedan - window mech diagram

There's a good thread on 40 Ford window install that you might be able to search for.
It is a very tedious exercise putting the glass in, so good luck. Oh yeah, welcome to the Fordbarn. Great place...

I agree Capt. Kirk! Hey Mark, did you turn motor over after the flywheel install. Don't ask me how I know how the "wrong flywheel" can happen.
