Seen multi-dozens of them in the forties & fifties and never-ever a mention of "TITLES"! Was brought up in the northern tip of NYS and the doodle-bug was the norm for raking and drawing off loose hay...

Use that machinists straight edge rule with a good strong flashlight being held behind it! Then if you see a spot that shows light, use the gage!

Just be sure to fasten the belts to the body structure---never the frame! One can imagine what it would be to have a body torn off---it and the seat leaves, you don't!

Go to a good tool supplier and buy a carbide drill the size of the last one you used and use a lube-coolant on it and drill out the broken tool-steel bit. then restart the "step-drilling again.
